Privacy Policy — Hokm and Pasoor

Overview

Hokm and Pasoor (“the App”, formerly Reza’s Cards and Reza’s Suite), published by RedHeart, is a card game app featuring Pasoor and Hokm. Your privacy is important to us.

Data Collection

The App does not collect any personal data. We do not run any servers, and no information about you or your games is ever sent to us. No accounts are required to use the App. Two optional features share a little information with others, never with us: Play Nearby with the other devices at your table, and Game Center with Apple. Both are described below.

Data Storage

All game progress, settings, statistics and your Play Nearby name are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. Deleting the App deletes them.

Play Nearby

From version 3.0 the App lets people in the same room play together on their own iPhones and iPads. This uses Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity, which connects nearby devices directly over Wi-Fi, peer-to-peer Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It does not use the internet, and nothing goes through us.

When you use Play Nearby:

• What is shared, and with whom. Only with the other devices at your table: the name you type (any name or nickname you like), a random player identifier created by the App on your device, and your moves. While you host a table, its code and your name are visible to nearby devices that are running the App and looking for a table.
• What is not shared. Nobody receives your cards except you. Each player is sent only their own hand and the cards played on the table.
• Security. The connection between devices is encrypted.
• Nothing is kept by us. When the match ends or you leave, the connection closes. We never receive any of this information.
• Permission. iOS asks for permission to use the local network the first time you open Play Nearby. You can turn it off at any time in the iPhone or iPad Settings app, under Hokm Pasoor (the App’s name on the Home Screen). Everything else in the App works without it.

Game Center (optional)

From version 3.0 the App has leaderboards and achievements through Apple’s Game Center. The App does not use Game Center at all until you tap the Leaderboards (trophy) button. From then on, each time the App opens it signs in to Game Center quietly, if you are signed in to Game Center on your device, and it never shows Apple’s sign-in screen unless you tap Leaderboards. While signed in, the App sends your scores on the leaderboards (matches won against the computer, best streak and best round, Kots) and your achievements to Apple’s Game Center, where they are shown to you and to other Game Center players under your Game Center name. This is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; we do not receive it. You can sign out at any time in the Settings app under Game Center.

Analytics & Tracking

The App does not use any analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party data services. Play Nearby uses Apple’s built-in Multipeer Connectivity framework, which runs on your device; leaderboards use Apple’s Game Center, only if you sign in.

Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children. In Play Nearby, the name a player types is shown only to the other players at the same table, who are physically nearby.
